The Riverdance Summer School has been granted Show Status from An Comisiún Le Rincí Gaelacha.
The Riverdance School will focus on show choreography. There will be a showcase performance with all students as the finale of each school each week. We will not change dancer styles or correct or choreograph competition steps. Our goal is to give the Irish dancers an insight into life as a professional, to motivate, inspire and encourage them to continue to dance and to build their confidence. We will focus mainly on Riverdance choreography but we will also teach the dancers the concept of building and staging a live performance.

We are conscious that we will be working with dancers from all over the world. We will customize our schedule and do our best to ensure everyone is catered for. For example if you live in the east coast of the US your program will run from 10am–3pm EST and we will ask the central time zone dancers to go from 9am-2pm CT. It is not the case that we would run the program in Dublin from 10am -3pm and expect people in the US to wake at 5am to take part.

We will keep this simple and fun. We are sure many of you have taken or are taking online classes with your dance teachers and you know what you need. We won’t require you to have specific boards or a board at all. If you can’t wear your dance shoes in your home that is fine, just dance in what you can wear and what your are comfortable in.

You will need strong and reliable WIFI or broadband service and the ability to hear music.

We will send you a detailed schedule in the coming weeks but for now you can plan for it to be from 10am–3pm daily with a lunch break.

You will learn the choreography from the show and you will be taught by the Riverdance instructors. For those of you who have been to the program in the past, this will be a different experience but we promise that it will be inspiring, motivational and educational.

We require a separate application for each sibling and a separate payment will be required for each sibling regardless of the number of devices that will be used in the home during the program.
Siblings can use the same device to take the program. We will place siblings wishing to take the program on the same device in the same group.

Unfortunately it is not possible to hold an end of school performance this year.

Payment is via PayPal and major credit cards are accepted. It is important that the information you put in your application matches your payment information.

Yes, dancers over the age of 18 will be able to use this as an audition. We will forward more information about that to you once we get closer to the commencement date.

The goal of the school is welcome the next generation of dancers, to educate and to ensure that all students enjoy the experience.  The scholarship covers the course fee.

To apply for the scholarship

1. write an essay (of 500 words or more)

2. video a piece to camera (no longer than 3 minutes)

Explain why you deserve to be the recipient of the scholarship. You can talk about what Irish Dancing means to you or you can talk/write about who is your biggest inspiration.  You can talk/write almost anything you like but remember you are applying for an Irish Dancing scholarship.

All classes and  activities will be conducted through English so a good command of the English language is required.
